Hi Friends,
I am sure all of you already are aware, but there was a major earthquake and tsunami in Japan a week or two ago. It is so sad to see so many people suffering, but many don’t realize… what about the dogs, the cats, the bunnies, and the other pets?
Paige was doing research online for causes to help out the hurt pets in Japan. While searching, she found this video..
The video is in Japanese, but it’s still worth watching. This sweet dog stayed with his dog-friend which was in severe critical condition. This video was really special to Paige because she said she can’t believe how amazing it is, that this dog loved the other enough to be right by it’s side through it all (and chances are they never met before this disaster) How loyal! We don’t even know all these dogs had been through before they made it to this spot.. Take a moment and watch the video:
I don’t know about you guys, but this made me a little teary eyed!! And I’m a dog!!
The good news is that these dogs were rescued after the video was taken, and while they are still weak and need care, they are getting stronger and looks like both will live.
The bad news is that, unfortunately, there are many other dogs in trouble that need help. While the purpose in this post isn’t to persuade you to give money or anything, but to help us realize that dogs & other pets need help right now too.
While Paige was searching, she found this:
World Vets: International Aid for Animals
and they are out and helping in Japan now. I am so happy to know that their is help out there. However they are in high demand of materials, and money. Take a moment to check out the website, if you can.

ReplyDeleteHey Simba and Paige, Kim (Lucy's mom) had forwarded it to me the other day and I sobbed for hours after seeing it - I still see them in my head and get teary-eyed just thinking about them. I hadn't heard they were rescued so thank you soooo much for that news. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the victims and their furry loved ones.

We're happy to know that those two dogs were rescued!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness they were rescued! What an awful tragedy!
ReplyDeleteOur prayers for those in Japan too. I've watched that video and was so glad to hear that the two dogs were rescued.
ReplyDeletehey Simba,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the news. I saw this video a few days ago and it was terribly sad. I am so furry happy the pups have been rescued and are receiving treatment. I love that animals are so loyal. What a great World it would be if all living creatures emulated this behavior.
Thanks for the link to the animal Aid site. Our hearts and prayers are with all the humans and animals in Japan.
