Back to the Way Things USED to be…

Hello Friends..

Unfortunately, I have some bad news.

Remember how much fun I had this winter?

IMG_4374

No itchies…

No lumps…

No swollen paws…

No medicine?

Well, it ALL came back.

and I mean, ALL at once. I would show you a picture but I don’t want to gross you out. Lets just say things don’t look pretty. Paige is trying very hard… Being a groomer she has a lot of remedies, but none are working. I even bathed in TAR AND SULFUR! (I can’t figure out what was worse, the smell of the shampoo or the fact I was bathing).

So, please keep us in your prayers. Any ideas or suggestions are always welcome. I can’t guarantee we haven’t already tried it yet, but Paige always appreciates your ideas!! Anything is better than steroids and antibiotics.

Simba

20 licks of love:

  1. Oh poor Simba. The itchies are the worst. Has Paige ever had your thyroid tested? Sometimes it can cause skin problems. It might be worth having a blood test to rule it out.
Good luck, we wish we had some magic that would make you feel better.

  5. It sure sounds seasonal to us. Do you have access to a dermatology specialist for dogs? It seems like that would be the best way to go. Or a veterinary hospital?

So sorry for this to be happening again, Simba.

  7. OH dear Simba, we're so sorry to hear about all these coming back to you. Is it something to do with the weather as it's getting warmer now?
We wish we could help but we can't even help our Mika either as his yeast problem is getting worse again too.

  8. Simba - I am sending you "health" vibes..... hope you get better soon....mum thinks the answers may lie with your "diet" - maybe you need a special one and have some funny reaction to something you're eating??

  10. Oh, Simba. We've been thinking of you and hoping you had outgrown your allergies this year. Mom will see what she can find out - with all of us doggie people in blog world, we should be able to find something that will help!

  11. Simba my dear,

Are you allgeric to something which might give you such a bad reaction?

The Missus gives me one salmon capsule a day for my skin and coat. Perhaps that might help? You might want to consult with the vet and he might advise you accordingly???

    Love,
    Homer

  12. I'm sorry about your health problems, Simba. Is the weather causing it? I know some dogs will get skin problems in the hot weather. Cold weather always seems to subside everything. I guess some blood work would give you some answers as to what's causing all these problems. My paws are crossed for you to get better!

  13. Claritin is what the vet here recommends for my allergies. I have eye drainage and drippy nose with the change in seasons. Mom buys the generic store brand and gives it to me wrapped in cheese. I don't know if it would work for skin issues or not.

  14. hey Simba,

I am so sad to read of your health issues. I wish I had some ideas, but I have never had any of those issues so my human is at a loss of what to recommend. We hope you can find the help you need, and paws crossed that you heal and are back to your beautiful, wonderful self very soon! Good luck! You are in our thoughts and prayers!

  15. Poor Simba-

It must be a seasonal thing. Wyatt had some food issues, but we finally found a food that works and as long as we stick with it, no itchys.
